Some thoughts about chapter five....

Isn't it interesting the shift from Elie's faith at the beginning of the book to his faith now? Clearly he's very angry at his God, but he still believes. How do you know he still believes? What happens when a prisoner loses his faith? What is the connection there? What do you think Elie's faith will look like once he leaves the concentration camp?

Ms. Piña,

I think Elie still believes cause he is praying to his god asking him why he is torturing his kind and his family. I think that when a prisonar loses his faith all he has left of him is his physical body. He doesnt have anything to live for once he gives up hope. He just lives in the prison until he dies. I think the connection is that faith is always a key if you want to be positive or have hope in a brighter future, but its hard to have hope when your in a spot like Elie where your being torchured and worked to death and each day you have a chance of living or dieing, so ya i would say those are some good hope breakers.

Happy Birthday Hef. But i thought you already had your birthday, or was that Bella. Well either way like i did for Bella,
Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday Dear Hef, Happy Birthday to you!!!
Hope Ms. Piña gave you a treat or something. =D
